Joint CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship programme is aimed at National Science & Technology Human Resource Development. A large number of JRFs are awarded each year by CSIR to candidates after qualifying the Test conducted by CSIR twice a year in June and December.

Exam Pattern of CSIR NET mathematical science 2022
The paper consists of 3 parts-
CSIR NET Mathematical Sciences exam will have 20, 40 and 60 questions, however, candidates have to attempt only 15, 25 and 20 questions in Part-A, Part-B and Part-C respectively.
Each question will have 4 alternatives, Questions in Part A and Part B will have only one correct answer whereas Part-C questions may have one or more correct answers.
Credit will be given only when exact number of correct answers are marked.
There will be a negative marking of 25% in Part A and Part B. However, no negative marking is applicable in Part-C.
Educational criteria of CSIR NET
The main educational criteria to become eligible for the CSIR NET exam is that the candidate must have completed their post-graduation (M.Sc) in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
The minimum marks required vary depending on the category of the candidate, but is generally around 55%. Candidates who are in their final year of post-graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the date of application.
Age limit of the exam
The maximum age limit for applying for the award of JRF shall be 28 years which is relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST/Third gender/Women/PwD and 3 years for OBC (NCL).
